2016/ collections at the Milan Salone, Via delle Erbe 2
2016/ has launched its collection of contemporary Aritaware during the Salone del Mobile in Milan. The 300 pieces that make up the extensive collection have been unveiled for the first time during a private press preview. The initial response has been overwhelmingly positive – these are encouraging first steps toward a new future for Arita.
The 16 designer and their collaborative potteries, along with the extended team involved with the 2016/ project, have spent more than 2 and a half years in preparation for this launch. They have combined new ideas and knowledge and worked together beyond their national and cultural boundaries. Nothing was compromised in the journey towards creating a collection for Arita that would be of the finest quality and applicable to contemporary lifestyles all over the world.
The exhibition presents the 15 standard collections and two special edition collections of porcelain that make up the 2016/ brand. It tells the story behind the project and gives a sneak preview of a further exhibition that will be held at Amsterdam’s Rijksmuseum from April 22. There, an exclusive exhibition will further exhibit the works of 2016/ alongside pieces by the 15th heir of Sakaida Kakiemon.
The Salone del Mobile in Milan attracts tens of thousands of visitors from across the globe. We are delighted to welcome as many people as possible to experience our new 2016/ products over the coming week and look forward to seeing their response to this exciting and ambitious project.
