Workshop – a view from above
A View From Above – Food and Utsuwa and… Discussion of Such Things
Ai Hosokawa + Naoko Ideno x INDUBITABLY
A workshop/talk on food on Sunday, 15 November
On 15 November, Ai Hosokawa and INDUBITABLY create a special restaurant for one day only, situated at the foot of a 1,000-year old ginkgo tree in the town of Arita. The food, conceived by Ms. Hosokawa, uses local ingredients and as part of the workshop participants execute her recipes together.
As part of the event, Ms. Ideno, who holds tea gatherings focused mainly around Taiwanese teas, also hosts a talk where she makes special teas using tea leaves from the Arita and Ureshino areas. The talk welcomes the producers of the ingredients used in the workshop and serves as a place to share stories about food, craftsmanship and the context of these ideas. Designer Teruhiro Yanagihara also joins Ms. Hosokawa and Ms. Ideno at the talk.
Ms. Hosokawa is a Kumamoto-based specialist in the field of cuisine and INDUBITABLY, based in Kagoshima, specializes in creating unique spaces. The event is part of the project "A View From Above", which aims to connect Arita with the greater world.
