Tjalling Mulder, kiln master of EKWC, in Arita
2022 November 24
Kiln master Tjalling Mulder of the Europees Keramisch Werk Centrum (EKWC) in Oisterwijk in The Netherlands is visiting Arita for a one-month research project. While he is in Arita he will research firing methods that use less gas and also visit several kilns to learn traditional wood firing methods. He will also try to produce sets of bowls with Amakusa Clay which is single material from Amakusa Mountain. It is a unique material different to porcelain clay used in other places worldwide.
On 24th November, Tjalling will give a talk to the local people about his experience in Arita and his role as kiln master at EKWC.
