Start of Summer Residency 2025 – Presentation

Creative Residency Arita 2025 began in June.
We are happy to welcome the new participants of the summer residency programme to Arita.
We will be holding a self-introduction presentation to welcome the two artists.
In the self-introduction presentation, the artists will introduce themselves and their past works, and talk about what they want to explore and challenge in Arita.

Dutch artist Milena Anna Bouma :
Milena is a visual artist working with sculpture, installation, and semiotic research. Her work often examines hybrid objects — those that blur the line between living and non-living, functional and emotional. She’s interested in ecology, domestic life, and material memory.
She took part in the 2024 year of the EKWC Ceramics Residency, and has preliminary experience with porcelain, mold-making, and slip casting.

Dutch designer Marlou Breuls :
Marlou is a fashion designer and interdisciplinary maker focused on tactility, transformation, and soft forms. Her studio works with silicone, rubber, and now ceramics.
She took part in the 2024 year of the EKWC Ceramics Residency, making larger objects and chord techniques with ceramics.
