Winter 2024 Final Presentation

Join us for the final presentation of the 2024 CRA winter residency which will be held on Friday 22 March. A livestream will be available on our instagram channel.

Italian-born, Netherlands-based designer Benedetta Pompili stayed in Arita for three months. She is well known as a researcher who develops new materials from waste products such as contaminated land, but this time she focused on “Hama” (single use shrinking plates for the firing process) and went back to her roots in product design to design a collection of tableware series consisting of nine pieces inspired by these “Hama”. Prototype series will be finished and presented with the help of her partner kiln Hosen Kiln. Please come and see the pieces and listen to her talk about how she experienced Arita. No reservation or contact is necessary, so feel free to attend the presentation and exhibition freely.
